I'm in Mangalore India just chilling.
I've now been in india over 2 months
in places with spotty to shitty to nil internet connections.
Here in Mangalore though there is internet!
So time to upload some photos from my film im working on.

More Chanderi weaving photos.
There is a lot of gold work in Chanderi saris.
They use it in brocade and some field work.
Back in the old days the zari (gold thread)
was imported from France and it was acutal
gold wire spun with silk.
Some actual real gold zari work is still
produced at a very high price in Chanderi
but most so called zari gold work

I spent a lot of the weekend working on Chanderi stuff.
Organizing is a bitching bastard of a task.
I'm good at organizing.
so what does that say about me?!

By shooting photographs in Chanderi
50mm and I (N~ wants to be called 50mm now)
became an instant spectacle.
Its a smallish isolated town in the state of UP,
not many outsiders let alone tourist come there.
People with cameras shooting weavers at work in their homes,
is an odd thing indeed.

Its not like Mumbai or Delhi where a person with a camera

My friend N~ manned the camera most of the time.
She is a staff photographer for Hindustan Times
and somehow managed a week off from the paper
to go with me to Chanderi.
